Train with the Professionals

Anyone over the age of 18, can now apply for a Lorry Licence

LGV  courses within MJM can only be provided to Northern Ireland and English licences only.


There are a few things that you need to do, before beginning the process of obtaining either your Lorry licence.


Lorry:       Did you complete your car license before 1st January 1997?     

      

Yes : Follow LGV Process 1 below...             No : Follow LGV Process 2 below....


LGV PROCESS 1


MJM Training provide you with an information pack, that contains all the necessary forms to complete the process below. Simply provide us with your name and address and they will be posted direct to you....


1. Complete a Medical with your Doctor
        a. Form provided in pack
        b. Doctor have their own charge on this 


2. Send your driving license to the DVLNI to have it stamped with provisional license for rigid lorry
        a. Complete a DL1 form
        b. Send DL1 form, medical form and present license along with a payment of £20 to DVLNI
        c. This can take up to 2 weeks to return to you 


3. Book a theory tests: Module 1
        a. Cannot book theory tests until license has been returned to you
        b. See the form in your pack, to either fill in payment details and send off, or call telephone number and book over telephone. Tel: 0845 600

c. Book for Module 1 ~ for LGV ! ......cost £40

d. Revision for this module can be done via “Official Theory test for LGV” in the form of a book or an interactive CD, and can be bought in any

    good book store and is also available via i-tunes or your App store on any tablet....... 


4. Contact MJM Training to book your practical training and test: Module 3
        a. This cannot be done until Module 1 theory tests is completed.
        b. MJM Training will require a copy of the paper part of your license as well as a copy of both theory pass certificates 


5. Wait on MJM Training to contact you
        a. MJM Training use the details (provided above) to apply for a test date for you. This can take up to 2 weeks
        b. When a test date is provided to MJM Training on your behalf, we will organize the training around this date and contact you to make sure the

            dates and the times suit you.
        c. If, for instance you test fell on a Friday afternoon; MJM Training would train you on Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri morning and test, Friday

           afternoon.

        c. Book for Module 1 & Module 2 ~ for LGV !
        d. These modules can sometimes be completed on the same day.

6. Complete practical training: Show me, Tell me examination: Module 4
        a. This is half a day’s training and the other half a day is test
